Providing Educational Excellence to the
Healthcare Industry Since 1995
Martin Allison has worked with the healthcare industry since 1995. He
began his career as a Microsoft certified instructor teaching Microsoft
Office and client proprietary software solutions to fortune 500 and 1000
companies. In 1997, Martin became an Adobe Certified Instructor, and
earned his Project Management Certification through Productivity Point
International, a division of Knowledge Universe, Inc

In 1998, Martin earned his Microsoft Certified Network Engineer
Instructor certification, and promoted to lead project manager for
Productivity Point Internationals, Atlanta office. He studied adult learning
theory and earned his training development certification, and his
Certified Internet Webmaster Instructor certification in 1999. Knowledge
Universe liquidated their Productivity Point division in 2000, and closed
135 offices including the Atlanta location.

In 2001, Kennesaw State Universities' Cyber Crimes Task Force asked Martin and his wife to
develop a training course for parents and educators on the dangers children face from internet
child predators. Martin worked closely with Cobb County detectives, investigators and other
subject matter experts. After September 11, funding was cut to the project, but Martin and his
wife continued speaking at Cobb County PTA functions and elementary schools on the
dangers of the Internet to children.

In February 2002, Optio Software hired Martin as a developer/trainer. He developed instructor
led training, webinars, and computer based training on forms automation for hospital electronic
medical records. In 2004, Martin joined the research and development team. He was
responsible for developing the computer based training for the new Medex electronic medical
records product line including; the design of the application user interface, graphics,
buttons, logos, help menus, wiki and more. In June of 2007, Bottom Line Technologies
purchased Optio Software, and the research and development division closed.

In September of 2007, Martin joined the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta technical training
team as a full-time consultant/developer for the Learning Services division. His responsibilities
include the development of the Business Acumen for Managers training course, Taleo, and
Epic Systems training.  Since March of 2009, Martin has worked exclusively on the
  development of the new
ADDIE based training template for Children's Healthcare. Dr Carol
Barnum of Southern Polytechnic University's Usability Center conducted the usability testing on
the new template for Children’s Healthcare. Pilot testing for the first course created with the
new template began in October of 2010, and went live to the whole organization in December.

Currently, Martin is developing the design standards documentation and guidelines for new
developers coming on-board at Children’s. The goal is to train new developers how to design
stand-alone modular activities that can be re-used, and quickly inserted into new training
courses to shorten development times and costs. Modular activities will allow Children's
Healthcare to build an extensive activities library that all developers can utilize when designing
future training courses, and keep a consistent look and feel in every training course.
