Martin Allison was born in the Midwest in 1959. He was first introduced to the world of creative painting at age 8, and discovered a natural talent for the arts. At age 15 he won his first recognition as an artist, and received the Gold Key Art Award. Upon entering high school he continued to pursue the arts in many forms. He studied printing, mechanical engineering, life drawing, cartooning, pottery, airbrushing, photography, architectural drawing, and painting under the direction of Charles White. In 1997 Martin was asked to participate in the Gifted Arts Student League. Martin spent his senior year traveling and studying with such artist as Paul Norton, Mimi Bochceller, and others.

Martin was accepted into the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 1978 were he continued his study of the arts, and began a career in medical illustration for Broward County in Florida. Martin graduated with an Associates degree in 1980. Upon graduating from the Art Institute, Martin continued his career in the arts, painting and drawing for such publications as Bird Talk Magazine, National Cockatiel Society, Zoo Atlanta, State Farm Insurance, and the Underground NET. In 1985 Martin received a plaque from the National Cockatiel Society honoring his charitable contribution for his design of the National Judging Standard, and the National Cockatiel Society Logo.

In 2001 Martin married Lois Payton. Lois is an accomplished potter and artist in her own right. They enjoy creating art together and plan to travel the country, stopping at different art communities around the United States, studying and growing in their skills. During his time in Fort Lauderdale, Martin met Toy Hemmontoller, a well known Folk Artist in New Orleans. They became life long friends and often influenced each other in their work. Sadly, Toy passed away in 2005 during hurricane Katrina, but left a lasting impression on Martins style. In every painting Martin creates, he places a small cross in each painting as a dedication to Toy.

In 2006, Martin joined Fan Art Review. His popularity skyrocketed on FAR and now is drawing exclusively for the site. He received an award in 2006 for Best Digital Artist on FAR, and is currently holding the number 5 spot in the rankings this year. He has plans to produce a line of clothing called BonezWear, which will hopefully be out in 2007 featuring his drawings exclusively. Martin will be in several juried art exhibits in 2007 and plans in traveling extensively this year to different events and festivals.
